Dover, Vermont

Location Highlights

Located in the picturesque southern Green Mountains, Dover is a charming Vermont town that offers visitors an authentic New England experience in all four seasons, with Mount Snow serving as its crown jewel attraction just a short drive from the legendary Vermont Route 100.

Downtown Charm

Dover’s downtown area blends quintessential Vermont character with modern amenities for visitors. The nearby historic village of Wilmington, just a 10-minute drive away, offers a delightful collection of local shops, art galleries, and farm-to-table restaurants. Don’t miss Dot’s, a classic American restaurant with a retro vibe that locals recommend for any meal of the day. After a day of outdoor adventure, visitors can enjoy craft beverages at local breweries, browse specialty shops for Vermont-made products, or simply stroll through town enjoying the peaceful mountain atmosphere.

World-Class Skiing

Mount Snow stands as Vermont’s closest major ski resort to metropolitan areas, making it the perfect winter destination for visitors from Boston (just 2.5 hours away) and New York City (4 hours). The resort features four distinct ski areas spanning over 600 acres of terrain: Main Mountain, North Face, Sunbrook, and Carinthia, with 20 lifts and a 1,900-foot vertical drop. Perfect for families and skiers of all abilities, Mount Snow offers 73% intermediate trails, dedicated learning areas for beginners, and challenging terrain for experts including tree skiing and moguls. Beyond skiing, winter visitors can enjoy snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding, and ice skating at nearby venues.

Spectacular Fall Foliage

Autumn transforms Dover and the surrounding mountains into a breathtaking canvas of vibrant colors, making it one of Vermont’s premier leaf-peeping destinations. The peak foliage season typically occurs during the first ten days of October in southern Vermont, though timing can vary slightly each year depending on weather conditions. Snow Visitors can experience the stunning fall colors via scenic chairlift rides on Mount Snow’s Bluebird Express, which offers panoramic views extending to Somerset Reservoir and Mount Monadnock on clear days. The region’s winding country roads provide perfect routes for foliage drives, while hiking trails through the Green Mountain National Forest allow for immersive experiences among the colorful maple trees that Vermont is famous for displaying each autumn.

Testimonials

Amazing Property and Location!

Evan H.
I can’t say enough about how perfect this property was for a large group. We had 28 people staying in the Blue House for a long weekend over New Year’s Eve and the pictures don’t do this house justice for how perfect it is for a large group. Michelle and Ryan and the rest of the house staff were so helpful and responded to every question or request immediately. The location right by the Mt. Snow and The Last Chair is unbeatable for a mountain weekend. Book this house for your next ski weekend!

The house is great for a large family and or friends to all gather. We enjoyed the family room being right next to game room. The indoor pool was fabulous. Close to Mt Snow and room for everyone’s gear. The Property manager was there to answer any questions and to help us with whatever we needed.

Wonderful Family Reunion

Jose S.
We celebrated our second family reunion. It was truly a wonderful experience. The property was absolutely perfect for us. Having the privacy of each room having a bathroom was was a great convenience. Michelle and Ryan were great hosts, very accommodating and responsive. Would definitely stay here again.
